 What is Uniform Civil Code?

=> Uniform Civil Code means applying personal laws on all the citizens regardless of their religions. Personal laws are like Marriage, Adoption, Divorce, inheritance, Maintenance  and these are not similar to public laws. Currently Criminal and public laws are uniform for all the citizens of India. And Goa is the only state following Uniform Civil Code in our Country.

Uniform Civil Code under Article 44 in directive principles of Indian Constitution.
